Cabbage Dumplings for Dinner
Healthy + Tasty + Easy
You need: Cabbage leaves (large) 8-10 pcs, minced meat (beef/pork/chicken) 500g, onion 1 pc, garlic 3 cloves, salt and pepper to taste, water 2-3 tbsp, vegetable oil for frying. Serve with soy sauce, yogurt or chili sauce.

Boil a large cabbage in water for 3-5 minutes until the leaves become soft. Carefully remove the leaves and let them cool.

Mix minced meat with finely chopped onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir well.

Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each cabbage leaf. Fold the sides and roll it into a dumpling shape.

Make sure the edges are sealed well so the filling doesn’t come out while cooking.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the dumplings on medium heat until golden brown on all sides.

You can also steam them for a healthier option. Cook for 10-15 minutes until fully done.

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce (like soy sauce, yogurt or chili sauce).

Crispy outside, juicy inside — your homemade cabbage dumplings are ready!
Dumpling Tips
- Use the outer large leaves. They are sturdier and easier to roll.
- Blanch, do not boil. 3-5 minutes softens the leaves without tearing them.
- Pat leaves dry. Excess water makes the filling slip out.
- Do not overfill. A spoonful per leaf rolls and seals cleanly.
- Seal edges well. Tuck and roll tightly so nothing escapes while cooking.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — beef, pork or chicken all work; season the same way.
Can I steam instead of fry?

Why are my cabbage leaves tearing?
They may be under-blanched — give them a full 3-5 minutes in the boiling water.
Can I make them ahead?
Yes — roll them ahead and keep chilled; cook fresh before serving.
What sauce goes with cabbage dumplings?
Soy sauce, yogurt dip or chili sauce all work beautifully.
